How to improve Performance in FL Studio 10. Optimization Tips

If your fl studio is playing your track very slow with glitchy sound then it might be due to your sound card driver. We are aleady recommended to use Asio4all sound card driver for all popular pc Daws.

ASIO4ALL(ASIO4ALL is the general purpose ASIO driver that comes with FL Studio) with a Buffer length setting not less than 10 ms. Buffer lengths below 10 ms will eat significant CPU power with little or no perceived change in program responsiveness.

Buffer Length - Buffer length setting not less than 10 ms. Buffer lengths below 10 ms may eat CPU power with little or no perceived change in program responsivenes.

Under the ASIO settings try the Mix in buffer switch and Triple buffer options.

Multithread support - Make sure Multithreaded generator processing and Multithreaded mixer processing are in glowing orange box on the Audio Settings panel.

Increase the audio buffer length - The Buffer length setting is found on the Audio settings page. You will need to click the 'Show ASIO panel' button there. Keep adding 5 ms increments until you notice a drop in CPU usage. Buffer lengths over 50 ms make live playing difficult but should be OK for mixing CPU intensive tracks where you are making simple adjustments to controls rather than recording a performance.
